The Belgian artist Gijs Vanhee discovered his passion for drawing and for graffiti in his childhood. Since 2016 he has been trying to tell a coherent story in his work, which spans paper, canvas, print, digital art and mural painting, and in which people with the head of a bird play a leading role. These Freebirds can be seen as people who are free in their minds through their imagination. The search for freedom runs through his work like a thread, as does the balance between nature and society.
