In brief

This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from third-party servers. A small script tells us which pages are viewed and how often. It stores nothing about you in your browser, and we do not create a profile of you. There is no advertising on this website.

We receive personal details only if you provide them yourself, for example when subscribing to the newsletter or filling in a form.

Visiting the website

The website is hosted on a server at Infomaniak in Switzerland.

When a page is requested, our server records which file was accessed, at what time and with which browser. The IP address is shortened before it is stored: for IPv4 the last block is removed, for IPv6 everything from the fourth group onwards. The full address is never stored. The shortened address usually identifies a network rather than an individual connection.

Until recently we counted visits from these logs. For four weeks after switching to counting in the browser (see below), we continue to transfer them to Matomo once a day, with the address already shortened. This shows us how far the two counts differ. After that, the transfer ends.

The logs are deleted after 90 days. If a day could not be evaluated by then, for example because of a technical fault, it is deleted as soon as the evaluation has been completed.

Counting visits

So that we know how often the website is visited and which pages are popular, a small script reports each page view to the analytics software Matomo. It reports the address and title of the page, the page you came from, and details about your browser, operating system, screen size and language.

Matomo runs on a server at Metanet in Switzerland and is operated on our behalf by Pause GmbH. The script and its reports still go through isaff.ch: our server passes them on to Matomo. Your browser only ever connects to isaff.ch. Matomo never receives your full IP address, only the shortened one, just as it appears in the log.

The script sets no cookie and stores nothing about you in your browser. To count several page views as one visit, Matomo forms a checksum from details about your browser, the shortened address and a random value. The random value changes every day. On the next day the same browser therefore produces a different checksum, and a visit cannot be linked to an earlier one. We do not create profiles of individual visitors.

Without JavaScript or with a blocker, the website is just the same; you are simply not counted.

In Matomo, individual visits are kept for no more than 90 days, including those from the logs. Only the aggregated figures are kept longer: how often which page was viewed, with which browsers and via which referring sites. These figures contain no addresses, not even shortened ones.

To send you the newsletter we need your email address. The sign-up form hands it to the service the association operates itself (see Forms), which passes it straight on to MailerLite Limited, 88 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2, D02 DK18, Ireland. MailerLite sends the newsletter on our behalf. Your address is not stored on our server in the process.

After signing up you will receive an email with a confirmation link. Your subscription is only complete once you click it. This ensures that nobody can sign up an address that is not their own.

You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the end of every issue or by emailing hallo@isaff.ch. Your address will then be deleted.

Forms

For membership and similar sign-ups we ask for your name, address and email address. The form in question shows exactly which details are required. We collect nothing beyond what it asks for.

Your details are received by a service the association operates itself, on the same server in Switzerland as this website. No external form provider is involved.

For the two confirmation emails, one to you and one to us, we use Mailjet, based in France. This service sends the emails on our behalf and receives the details from the form for that purpose.

This data is not subject to a fixed deletion period. A membership is ongoing, and we need your address for the invoice and for the invitation to the general assembly. If you leave the association, we delete it.

Your name on the website

The sign-up form asks whether we may name you publicly as a member. If you agree, your first and last name appear in the list on Support us, and nothing else. If you do not agree, your name appears nowhere. This has no effect on your membership.

You can change this decision at any time. An email to hallo@isaff.ch is all it takes.

Links to other services

We link to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and to Google Maps for directions to the works. These are ordinary links, not embedded content. As long as you do not click on them, none of these services learns of your visit. Beyond that, the privacy policy of the respective service applies.

Your rights

You can ask at any time which data we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. To do so, write to hallo@isaff.ch.

We update this statement whenever our handling of data changes. The version published here is the one that applies.
