Previously working as a textile designer, Effi Bannister now loves nothing more than creating complex patterns and implementing them on a large scale. When creating her pattern art, she completely dives into the surface and only comes back to the surface when a perfect mix of harmony and friction has been created from simple basic shapes. Effi's work is characterized by a strong affinity for complex patterns. Her visual language is characterized by clear lines and surfaces. In her paintings, she makes bright colors dance and structures surfaces through black and white contrasts.

A snail crawls up the stairs and looks at you in a friendly way. For me, snails represent the antithesis of our society's time and performance pressure. Stairs also slow things down. To climb stairs, we need to use more effort and focus on the steps. A staircase can be an opportunity to consciously focus on our body and our breathing and thus escape time pressure for a moment. The snail keeps you company.

Fredinko is an artist, cartoonist and advertiser. He published his first cartoon at the age of 14 — since then, outlines and deadlines have defined his everyday life. In addition to his later career in advertising, he worked on an artistic signature that he himself located “somewhere between pop art and neo-cubism.” This aesthetic originated in a father-son conflict: The father, an architect from the old Bauhaus school, required strict geometric forms, while the rebellious son relied on organic, free lines. In Fredinko's work, both poles are now merging, sometimes order dominates, sometimes chaos. The Swiss with German-Hungarian-Slovakian roots became known primarily for his live performances, when he fills huge canvases with idiosyncratic drawings and invites the audience to color along. He now lives with his family in Adliswil, where he also runs his studio.

Passion can be fertile ground for works of art of all kinds. This is also the case with woolwomen. If all husbands, sons and grandchildren have already been equipped with woolen socks, scarves, hats and cardigans several times over, that is no reason for the WollDepot team to pause. There are still plenty of trees, benches, fountains and much more that a city has to offer.

For the first edition of Street Art Frauenfeld. A 3D-anamorphic painting showing a seamstress, concentrated on her work with a red cloth. The motive taps into the history of the building where the artwork came to life – a former tailoring shop. With this work, I wanted to express my respect for the place and its past

The situation in the underpass called for a completely new approach, as the viewer cannot see the entire picture at once and only see a section at a time. That's why I decided on a storyline where it should be irrelevant which image you see first. I wanted to convey more of the feeling of bees to the wider world. The associated story can develop individually for each viewer.

Antoine LPVDA, stage name, lives between Leysin and the Vallée de Joux. As a graffiti artist, landscape designer and self-taught street artist, he has traded his brushes for a sanding machine with which he creates amazing frescoes on facades made of aged wood - with amazing results.

The name of the city of Frauenfeld served as inspiration for the interpretation of the rural woman. A contemporary take on a nature-loving woman dressed in a variety of materials and textures, such as wool and plaid shirts. The various rings and precious stones on her fingernails form a counterweight to the earthly vision of the work and pose a profound question of BEING or appearances. Technique: The work of art was incorporated into the wood by the artist using a grinding machine.

Robis is a graffiti artist, illustrator and graphic designer. He likes comics and illustrations, which he paints on the walls with wit, charm and his talent for craftsmanship. No matter what Robis gets his hands on, spray can, brush, roller, pen, he knows how to use it masterfully. His works can be seen all over Switzerland, in France, Serbia and, with his latest work, the “squid bus”, now also on a tour across Europe.

This is a historic building that has been in the hands of pharmacists for centuries. Around 1830, an owner had his initials immortalized in gold on the stair railing. Carl Stein. In 1863, pharmacist Gustav Schröder bought the house. He was not only a pharmacist, but also responsible for the quality control of cow's milk. The artist's illustration takes up the story of this pharmacist. A farmer with her cow downstairs. She brings the milk to the test. In addition to the historical aspect, the work also contains a love story. A love story between the milkwoman and the alchemist. She is very much in love with him but he is too busy to notice the advances. If it's up to the artist Robis, the story could perhaps have a good ending. The pharmacist just has to finally listen when the raven croaks: “She loves you, she loves you!”

Sajo creates absurd, funny and surprising visual ideas from a moment that can never be planned. The artist likes to visit places that inspire him; the mystical forest with its mushrooms and animals, the secluded beach or the neighborhood bar around the corner, where the comedy of everyday life inspires me. From these impressions, he creates sketches, which are then transformed into art prints, posters, three-dimensional wooden figures or wall paintings.

David Kümin, alias Chromeo, was born in 1982 and grew up in Winterthur. Fascinated by murals and illegal graffiti as a child, the viewer became an actor: As a teenager, he grabbed a spray can, which marked his start as an artist. He completed a Master's degree in Fine Arts, Public Spheres and Major Art Teaching at the Lucerne Academy of Fine Arts. It is important to Chromeo that his works have a depth of content and not only have a decorative character. With his work, he wants to inspire the viewer to engage with the work.

Composition, sampling — the relationship between music and painting is not only reflected in the linguistic engagement with the two disciplines. For the muralist Chromeo, the relationship between the two forms of musical expression is obvious. Both require dramaturgy, innovation, craftsmanship. The composition of the wall painting was heavily influenced by circumstances such as the format of the wall and the two trash cans that stand in front of the painting. Accordingly, the main eye notes, the two hands, are painted on the far right in order to visually avoid the buckets. As a template for the two hands, Chromeo deliberately used stock photos (images from a page on which photographers offer their photographs for use). This should involve the aspect of sampling, in which an existing photograph by a third person is painterly interpreted and rearranged.

It's known to be one of the pioneeringplants as it often is the first one to bloom in open areas and fields after forestfires, hence its name. Fireweed felt very fitting on this tall narrow wall as it blooms gradually and leaves something to wait for.

Nol's art style is often described as “effervescent.” Everything he creates looks lively, is round and looks as if it had been inflated. His creatures consist of bold, monochrome, black, flowing lines, which are frequently used in the screen printing process, his other love. This is also the reason for his passion for razor-sharp, vector-like work that should look as if they were produced by machine, even though they are actually done by hand. Nol's works can be admired in Vietnam, Ireland, England, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Belgian Gijs Vanhee discovered his passion for drawing and graffiti in his childhood. Since 2016, in his work, which spans paper, canvas, print, digital art and wall painting, he has been trying to tell a coherent story in which people with the head of a bird play a leading role. These freebirds can be seen as people who are free in their mind through their imagination. The search for freedom is a recurring thread throughout his work, as is the balance between nature and society.

The inspiration for this painting I have found from the pages of books that revealed the fascinating world of tree communication. Through my readings, I discovered the remarkable way trees connect and share information with one another. In a forest, a special network of fungi links the roots of all the trees, enabling them to communicate and cooperate as a community. This connection allows them to communicate and collaborate as a species, working together to survive. Trees have been around for a very long time and we often underestimate their importance. We can actually learn a lot from them. They can be our guides during difficult times, like a lighthouse showing us the right direction.Throughout history, as human beings we have faced many crises such as wars and climate changes, and we have only been able to survive as a species by working together. Just like the trees, we too need to come together and support each other to thrive.I believe it's crucial to remember this, especially when we encounter tough times. In the end, our survival as a species depends on our capacity to learn from the interdependence found in nature and our willing to collaborate for a brighter tomorrow.
